I need to track down where my crabapple and maple seeds went off to, so I can plant them as soon as I get some pots. Right now, I have around four or five pots of baby maple trees. I'm hoping they'll be big enough to plant next year, hopefully after we're long moved into our new house (which is on 1 acre of land).
So that I can either plant them myself or be able to sell/give them away.
They look pretty healthy, and they should..I'm constantly fussing over them.
I thought I had a walnut somewhere too...but I dunno.
How disorganized this house is 'cause we're moving! Heh.
Meanwhile, my older tree, a mimosa flamboyante which I bought at a flea market last year has finally stopped stress-dropping its leaves. I didn't have as much time to gradually re-introduce it to being indoors because the frost crept up on me and I was worried for it. Hopefully it fills those branches back up, but I'm trying not to worry so much since it has a health amount of leaves left to keep it alive.
It's my only sensitive plant, I love how it moves to catch as much light as possible and I love that it sleeps in the dark. My mimosa is my baby. I know it doesn't belong here, in America where it gets cold, but so far I've managed to look after it. My only concern, is, that it'll get too big to move around someday. Already it's gonna need its second larger pot because it was so happy over the summer.
I'm hoping, next summer, it'll be happy enough to flower and maybe have babies of its own (seeds)...so that I can start raising little bitty mimosas.
Things I need to do over the next week:
Remind Mom to dig up the strawberries and check to see if the corn's ready yet.
Dig up my hyssop and roses and pot them.
In general get ready to move, more.
...plus try not to jinx my plans for the future.
